Sales Engineer
Overview
We are seeking a Sales Engineer – Industrial Automation (Bilingual English/Spanish) to join our team. This role combines technical expertise with sales strategy, requiring the ability to understand complex automation systems and translate them into tailored solutions for customers. The Sales Engineer will be responsible for driving new business, managing customer relationships, and serving as the key liaison between clients and internal teams from project initiation through completion.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in engineering, industrial engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in industrial automation machinery sales.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish), with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
- Ability to travel extensively within the territory.
Any experience with all of the following:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for design and technical drawing interpretation.
- CRM systems.
- Microsoft Office.
- Sales in Spanish and English.
- Field measurements and data gathering.
- Working in multicultural environments.
- Working in various types of work environments, from factory floors to corporate offices.
- Utilizing strong interpersonal skills to work with diverse stakeholders, from operators to executives.
- Keeping up to date with industrial automation landscapes and key industry trends.
Major Resposibilities and Job Duties
Engages in projects from initial sale through completion and service. Prepares detailed proposals that align with customer needs and collaborates with internal teams to ensure proposals are technically feasible and competitive. Acts as the primary liaison between the customer and internal teams to ensure timelines and deliverables are met. Conducts on-site visits to analyze customer production lines and gather technical data. Takes precise measurements of machines and their specifications. Interprets and utilizes technical machine drawings. Creates preliminary designs using AutoCAD to assist in customer proposals. Performs sales strategies to grow the customer base in the territory. Builds and maintains relationships with key stakeholders, from maintenance to managers. Identifies new business opportunities and presents automation solutions. Maintains records of customer interactions and sales activities. Provides regular sales forecasts and performance reports.
Travel Requirements
This role requires frequent domestic and international travel, between 50 to 75%, to various unanticipated worksites.
