Overview

Tidas Automation, a fast-growing automation solutions provider serving packaging, plastics, medical device, food & beverage, automotive, and other industries, is seeking its first full-time Mechanical Design Engineer. This role offers a unique opportunity to help shape the company’s design standards while supporting sales with creative concepts and delivering high-quality robotic and conveyor-based automation systems. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, precise, and innovative engineer who enjoys solving complex automation challenges in a collaborative team environment and is eager to make a direct impact on the company’s growth.

Key Resposanilities

  • Design and develop mechanical automation solutions including robotic systems, conveyors, packaging equipment, and custom machinery.
  • Collaborate with sales and applications engineering teams to create innovative concepts that support customer proposals.
  • Produce detailed CAD models (3D and 2D), fabrication drawings, and supporting documentation.
  • Oversee fabrication and assembly phases, ensuring accuracy, quality, and alignment with project objectives.
  • Lead customer-facing meetings, providing technical updates, issue tracking, and solution recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate design and project records, including schedules, budgets, and weekly progress reports with photos/demonstrations.
  • Support integration of robotics (Fanuc preferred), conveyors, and auxiliary equipment into customer systems.
  • Partner with suppliers and fabricators to ensure manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience designing automation equipment, with a focus on robotics and conveyors.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD (Inventor or SolidWorks) and 2D AutoCAD.
  • Experience with Fanuc RoboGuide or similar robotic simulation software is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, kinematics, and stress/deflection analysis.
  • Knowledge of material selection, GD&T, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for customer and team interaction.
